About us
An event company that happens to own a lot of tables
We are a small Melbourne production team. We do one thing - casino-themed offline evenings for adult audiences - and we have been refining it for eleven years.
How we started
One table, one function room, one favour
The company began with a borrowed table at a friend's end-of-year function in a Flinders Street function room. The brief was simple: give 60 colleagues a reason to talk to each other for three hours. It worked better than the band had the year before, and the enquiries started arriving.
Eleven years later we own the tables, employ the hosts, and have produced more than 340 nights - from a 12-guest poker-themed dinner on the Mornington Peninsula to a 310-delegate conference closer in a hotel ballroom.
What has not changed is the premise. There is no money on our floor. Guests play with symbolic chips, the standings last as long as the evening, and the thing people remember is the room, not a result.

How we work
Four habits our clients notice
We put it in writing
Concept, table mix, staffing, run sheet and quote - documented before anything is booked, so nobody is working from a phone call.
We say no to formats that will not work
If your room cannot hold three tables, we will tell you it holds two. An overcrowded floor is worse than a smaller one.
We leave quietly
Pack-down is planned as carefully as set-up, including the parts your venue cares about: lift bookings, dock windows, floor protection.
Our position
Why we are strict about what we are not
Casino-themed entertainment sits next to a regulated industry, and we think the only sensible response is to be unmistakably clear about the difference.
Deal The Night is an event company. We do not operate a gambling service of any kind. There is no real-money gambling at our events, no betting, no cash prizes and no online casino service. Guests use symbolic chips or points with no monetary value, every event is restricted to adults aged 18+, and we never market to or depict minors.
We also decline work that would blur that line - and we tell clients why.
